Lake Tahoe - Adventure Therapy Program For Recovery

Our Lake Tahoe trip has finally arrived with four days of gorgeous weather to soak it all in.

We enjoyed 8 hours of hiking in the beautiful High Sierra. We did some fly fishing in Lake Gilmore after conquering Mt. Tallac, 9,700 ft elevation.  It was amazing to get back in touch with nature to clear our minds and souls.

And for those who are thinking about joining us, think about this. When you're part of our treatment program, you join an incredible family-community dedicated to friendship, recovery, sobriety, and adventure.

K1 Gokart Racing! Go Team Windward Way

Instead of gritting your teeth and counting the hours of miserable sobriety, we here at Windward Way absolutely insist on having fun on the road to successful recovery. We offer hiking, sailing, rock climbing, wilderness exploration, camping, bowling, paint balling, soccer, fishing — and we do it with a flourish. While other treatment centers talk about it, in our adventure programs, we actually do it.

Our Philosophy For Drug Treatment

Our clinically supervised rehab centers are a fresh and spirited treatment option with 5 phases of treatment that are specifically for men who need the highest quality of care.

Inpatient treatment, the cornerstone of early recovery, is just the beginning of a person’s journey towards freedom. Continuity of care is a critical piece of the recovery puzzle, beginning with detox, inpatient treatment, PHP, IOP, extended care and eventually, sober living. The philosophy of Windward Way Recovery is based on this concept. We believe clients should continue to receive support, structure and remain accountable during this crucial transitional point between treatment and independent living.

Life for the newly sober individual will not be the same as it was just a few short months ago; all the pressures of family, work, school and the real world will require the individual to develop new and healthy coping skills. Our treatment center provides a supportive forum for individuals to “practice” these newly acquired skills and share experiences in a peer to peer setting.

Windward Way Admission Process

Our trained and experienced admission specialists will guide you or your loved one through our process. During your first stage of the admission process here at Windward Way, you’ll be asked a few questions about your substance use, your medical condition and your psychiatric history. You’ll also be asked about your background, your place of residence, your marital status and your insurance coverage.

Examples of basic questions we will ask: How long have you used drugs? How many times? Last time you used?   We want to make the process as easy and understanding as possible for you or your loved one. Our mission is to fight the disease of addiction and alcoholism. We are here for you.

We provide five phases of clinical drug treatment;  detox, inpatient, PHP (partial hospitalization), extended care, and I.O.P. (intensive outpatient.) In addition, we also provide structured aftercare services for OP (outpatient) and SL (sober living). Our facilities locally support communities in Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Irvine, & Laguna Beach, which is centrally located in beautiful Orange County, California.
